Really, do we need to destroy each other to obtain respect, or human beings are still unable to talk and resolve differences?

Every single active conflict in the world today is Islamics vs. Non-Islamics.

While the press rarely points it out, the issue is not respect of one people for another, but one religion believing all others must die.

Our religion is not theirs (this includes you athiest), so in their eyes we must all die. Unfortunately, no amount of tolerance, political correctness or respect will change the fact that some religions are evil and some cultures are evil.

Of course, you can argue that America is just as evil, and of course we are. BUT, I am American and the degree that my culture is evil is something you (meaning Islamics) can discuss with me and ask me to change. If you (again Islamics) decide you must kill me just because I am not Islamic, then we will try to kill you back. And, so there is war.

Of course, we (non-Islamics) have a choice. Let them kill us like the nice, politically correct people that we are, or we can fight back ... and risk destroying the planet.

Not an easy choice.

Uh, talk about what? We talked plenty prior to the war in Iraq for months. Saddam thought we were bluffing. He was wrong. As for Israel, terrorists kidnapped their men and have been launching rockets for years in to their nation. Israel left Lebanon 6 years ago and Gaza last year. The thanks they got was more missles?

It is not Iraq vs the USA dumba$$. And Israel is not fighting Lebanon they are fighting Hezbollah. Hezbollah just happens to be in Lebanon. And humans will never stop warring. At least not until we kill ourselves.

Yes, I agree, it's hard though when the person you are trying to talk too is flying a 747 at ya!

I know! but then it's been going for so long that I realize it needs more than a talk. It's so hard to achieve a win-win situation for all parties. I hope eventually it can be achieved but doubt it that it will be sooner.

Violence is human nature. Violence will never go away, because the power to kill your opponent is the only power that there is. If you kill somebody, then they can never threaten or oppose you ever again. It's unfortunate, but true.
