I don't think so. I used to work with a guy (who was barely out of university at the time) that worked for Border Patrol. I think it's like any other job; if you have the basic requirements, you'll get the job.

You can get a criminal justice degree, but you don't need it.

The border patrol is a division of the US Customs and Border Protection Service (www.cbp.gov). They report directly to several government agencies. If you check their web site, there is information about careers with CBP. However, it is a government job... which means you will have to pass an extensive background check, drug test, interview, and get a security clearance from the NSA. It's tricky to do that.
