Theoretically yes they could, but it is not something that can be done in the office without you noticing. You would need to be having abdominal surgery, and the doctor would have to do it without anyone noticing it or recording it in the notes, which is illegal, impractical and unlikely.

If it was done, the nursing staff who were taking care of you post op would know and they would have to keep it secret too...it is all too complicated!

I very much doubt that it would happen...no doctor would risk doing stealth tubal ligation....

NO a doctor cannnot do that w.out you consent, even if its because of a medical emergency there needs some kind of consent or waiver form singed before they can do anything. if this if what happened to you or somone you know check or request a copy of all the papres that were singed in the hospital and then hire a lawyer after looking over all the papers, good luck , remember that proceedure can somtimes be reversed best of luck to you

WHEN I GOT MARRIED IT TOOK UP 10 MONTHS TO GET PREGNANT. HOWEVER, I WAS ON THE PILL FOR 10 YEARS. WHEN WE DECIDED TO HAVE A SECOND IT HAPPENED ON THE FIRST SHOT. WHEN I HAD MY SECOND WE WANTED MY TUBES TIED BUT THE DR. WAS VERY RELIGIOUS AND DIDN'T AGREE WITH ANY SORT OF BIRTH CONTROL. 3 YEARS LATER MY HUBBY WANTED TO TRY FOR A GIRL. SO WE HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A YEAR AND NOTHING. I AM WONDERING IF THE DR. CHANGED HIS MIND AND DID DECIDE TO GO AHEAD AND TIE MY TUBES. HMMMMM.

If a Dr. ties your tubes without your permission you could sue his pants off. It's YOUR body.

You have grounds for malpractice if that happened. No doctor can legally do that without your consent. Get in touch with a lawyer, pronto.
