Well this guy that I like and he likes me as well randomly texted me this question, "What's up between you and me? Do you want to be friends or something more?" I am just trying to see if he is truly interested in pursuing something with me, or does it seem like he just wants a friendship?

He's hoping you'll say that you'd like to girlfriend/boyfriend.
Ask him. Text him back. "By something more do you mean BF/GF?" (Blush, blush).

In these matters, it's best to just ask- But, if he didn't want to be just more than friends, he wouldn't ask you that question. -- It sounds exciting. I hope you like him and tell him you' be happy to be his GF.

Good Luck!

It's probably something more. he's probably questioning the relationship he has with you right now, because you might be giving him signals that you might like him a little more than what you're saying. He might also be uncomfortable with how you feel for him, but the chances of him asking you that question and feeling that way are slim.
What you should do, is ask him how he feels about it, he seems to be open with you, then you should do him the favor back.
You dont want to ruin a good friendship, on what ifs either.
So try talking about all your feelings, good or bad towards him.
If you're afraid you might loose him as a friend, dont worry, good friends wont be lost over something like this, people always fear it, it's the FEAR that the other person feels odd, that breaks up the friendship or the relationship. So you'll be fine.
The best thing to do is talk to him, right now, while he's still wondering baout it. Try to think if you gave him any reason to believe other wise. if you're sending him the wrong signal and you dontwant a relationship wit hhim, tell him that you're sorry, but you really feel he is a great friend, and that is all you feel right now.

despite what people say, every situation is different and so the best way to find out is to have a mature discussion with this guy. Don't assume or try to understand what he's saying. Approach directly, and ask him what you asked us. Most likely though, he wants to know how you feel about him before he puts his feelings out on the line and gets hurt or rejected.

He wants more, but he's putting the choice out there for you because he doesn't want to be hurt. He probably REALLY likes you a lot. He may not have a gob of confidence....but.....he sounds nice and is probably a keeper.

He wants more, he just knows if by some chance he's wrong about the vibe he's catching from you, he could make things awkward, so he's not starting out by saying how he feels.

He is asking if you would like a relationship, but wont come right out and say it for fear of rejection.

He's trying to figure out if you're interested without committing himself...men are like that. Just answer...say "I like you".

If a guy asks that then it means that he is interested in you but he doesn't know if you are interested in him.

Have a nice day :-)

It also might mean 'friends with benefits'.
You'd have to consider his motives and his behavior surrounding your relationship.
