I would suggest a good dose of Draman=mine or Benadryl before you get on the plane. That way she will sleep thru the whole trip.

As a prof pilot and one who's travelled with a 2 yr old....how they behave on boats, cars merry- go -rounds gives little indication as to how they'll react to an airplane flight.
Do yourself a big favour and ask at check in for a bulk-head seat or a seat where there is an empty beside you. Make with the 'doe eyes' and with a little luck you'll get one.
The biggest discomfort with little kids is the pressure build up in the ears. This is something that they've never experienced before and usually find it very disconcerting. Taking a childrens decongestion will help ensure that the estruation tubes are clear and will also make the child a little drowsy.
If you get on the plane with a tired child...things often go better.
Have diapers and bottle close at hand as well as a familiar toy.
Best of luck!....and don't worry about those around you!

Try to keep her from crying during takeoff and landing. Not because other passengers will hear it but because it's also possibly a mildly painful experience for a small child (ear pressure, etc). Nothing to worry about, though.

Have her drink something on the way up and when the aircraft starts down. It helps them clear there ears. If she still uses a pacifier, use that on the way up and down.

Also use a decongestant to help clear the ears and make them tired.

Depending on the length of the flight, I would use a portable dvd player or enough food that they'll pass out.

drug her up. glue her eyes shut. buy her a pretty new toy. Any one of those works but i think the third one is the most practical
