Yes,I have done it,but first I cut some poster board to the right size, and carefully glued it with a glue stick to the pic.(Just to make it stronger and better able to handle the rough way mail is handled.)
Then I just addressed it,put a stamp on it...and sent it on its way.It made it to my friend safely, and she really enjoyed getting it.

You can do this, but it's best to glue the picture onto something hard like a piece of plastic or cardboard, otherwise the photo might get ripped or torn in the mail.
Maybe use a photo editer like Kodak Picture centers (usually in Wal Marts or Target). You can add a title, borders, letters, anything else you want. It's a good price too.
Hope this helps! Oh and of course make sure you put the address on the back. Maybe right 'postcard' just so the mail people know. :-)

The problem with that is that even the tiniest drop of moisture can destroy a photograph. If your postie empties the post-box in the rain, that's the end of your photo/postcard! I'd scan the photo and print it out onto card.

Hunn...if it has an address, a return address and a stamp all in the right place then it will be mailed.

That's not a problem as long as you use THICK paper. You can find this at any office supply store.

You can do it, but it would probably get torn up in the mail.
