Thou shalt worship thy sadistic master with fear and trembling ...

It doesn't matter and no one will ever know. What matters is that MAN invented the idea of enslaving other humans for his own gain. He knew it was wrong when he did it, knew it was wrong when he continued it as long as he did, and it's a damned shame in all that time only ONE man thought to help effect a change and abolish it.

I firmly believe that if left to their own devices without laws and careful planning, man would once again enslave other humans and not bat an eyelash at how wrong they know it is.

Right now there are children being sold into slavery and sex-slavery all over the world. It is illegal here and in many other countries but it goes on because no one is willing to fight for the rights of others.

He hates it.
And just because there is record of it in the Bible does not mean he approves of it.
Since it was going to be a part of the times then, he did make laws and rules so the slave would not be abused, could even hold high rank, and put a time limit on the slavery.
Some slaves chose to remain slaves when the time was up.

On our end keep in mind the true christian is a slave.

Well, according to the Bible slavery is a good thing. Slaves should listen to their masters and not cause trouble. Look it up, log on to any searchable Bile web site, search for slave, slavery... you'll be amazed. So much for your loving God.

Except for the Society of Friends, all religious groups in America supported slavery.

One of the main reasons why masters did not want their slaves to become Christians involved the Bible. They feared that slaves might interpret the teachings of Jesus Christ as being in favour of equality. This was one of the main reasons why most plantation owners did what they could to stop their slaves from learning to read.

The word "slave" means "Slav" and that white people were used for slaves in Roman times. The Jews were once slaves in Egypt.

According to the Old Testament:

1. Men should not covet their neighbors slaves

2. It is OK to beat your slaves as long as they can get up within two or three days.

3. Slaves who are Jews should be freed after seven years.

4. Slaves who are not Jews need not be freed.

God says that buying slaves from neighboring countries is fine. I clearly believe that is evil nonsense and people don't even try to say its old testimate because its in new testimate as well.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

He's all for it. He wants everyone to be a slave. All of the Apostles called themselves "doulos" which means "bond servant" or slaves of Christ. :o)

Of course being a servant of Christ Jesus isn't like working for Uncle Tom. Jesus said "Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
