Do you think it would be helpfull against illegals to learn Spanish?

We could read their consperiacy in their news papers hear it on radio station and on their news and be a step ahead! It would be handy if I ALWAYS knew what they were saying. Most of all I would need it to be a border patrol agent or an ICE agent. Now theres some good benifits (federal). The pays not great but the rewards would be great!

Spanish is the language of bull fighters
and drug dealers.

There is no academic reason for learning Spanish.
French is the language of diplomacy and finance.
Latin is still the language of law and medicine
German and Russian are good languages for engineering.
Greek is the language of biblical scholars.

I guess spanish would be helpful if you
plan to only eat fast food,
or supervise coolie labor,
or work with spanish speakers.

English has replaced French
in almost every venue except romance.

In every Asian country -
ENGLISH is what they learn after their native language.
Learning Spanish in China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and on and on just doesn't happen.

English is the language of
International Business and Aviation.

English is used in nearly every
International Business transaction to negotiate the deal.

International flight crews speak English
because the control towers are operated in ENGLISH.



Any butthole Mexican who comes to the U.S.
and doesn't learn English
is just being an @$$.

Mexico's airing Al Jazeera to some extent nowadays...
I have heard from my friends that there's a lot of kids learning Spanish in schools today. It doesn't matter whether it's Boston or Illinois or California. Spanish is not a very useful language to learn. Castillian Spanish spoken in Spain has a possible literary merit, but not Mexican Spanish.

Why don't we just pay for that fence and bypass the necessity of learning a foreign tongue? In fact, let's not just sit and pray that our congressmen vote for the financing of the fence--let's build it ourselves on a local level. We depend too much on the government. In the past, after the Tripoli war, men who fought in that war gathered together and paid for a monument to the fallen officers, their fellow soldiers. They did not ask the government to pay for the monument; they did it on their own initiative.

It is helpful to learn any language you can. I know four foreign languages and love reading propaganda in each of them (btw, the Chinese LOVE us ;) ). You do need to know some Spanish for border patrol, but not alot. Fluency is nice, but not required. But as I just answered in another question, Mexico isn't the only source of Illegals, it's just the biggest and fastest. My husband is British and we were actually told by a friend of his that this friend was going through Mexico to come to the U.S. He asked if my husband wanted to try it instead of going the the "mindless paperwork". I was outraged! I don't care where you from, what you speak, or how you live........ come to the U.S. LEGALLY! Respect your new home and get respect in return. Disrespect this land and I'll kick you in the butt so hard you'll taste the steel toes!!!!!

We were in Mexico last year. Two of my sons speak fluent Spanish, one also speaks Portuguese. We shopped in different stores and the boys were absolutely amazed at how they were talking about us. They smiled, took our money, and passed insults about us between themselves. They mocked us..and seem to have a real resentment against Americans...

Even in Mexico they despise the hand that feeds them.

When the boys told us, we quit buying...One of my boys told them off, in Spanish....and were they ever surprised. The funny part is that a lot of the stuff they were selling was made in the Philippines.
