I cry about it a lot. I have a pit bull and sometimes I just sit in my bed with her and look in to her eyes while she wags her tail and wonder how someone can treat her or others like her so badly. Pit bulls are beautiful creatures who deserve love not hatrid stemmed from ignorance. I also think the laws for dog fighting are NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT strong enough and not enforced the way they should be!
God bless beautiful pit bulls!!

I've never seen that email chain letter, but I do think it's really too bad that all pit bulls are mistrusted because they have been used too much by sick, sadistic people.
Any dog can become a biter, or mean, even if raised properly.
However, pit bulls do have a tendency to be more aggressive than most dogs, especially towards other dogs.
My son moved back home with his 4-month-old PB puppy, and we are trying to decide what to do about it now. She is a very nice dog... quite friendly and eager to please... loves people, and is not at all aggressive towards our cats. The last time I took her for a walk around the neighborhood, she made several friends with people we passed on the sidewalk. But one lady warned me that the dog would be vicious some day.... and a man told me not to turn that dog loose, it would kill him.
Just like any other prejudice... people make judgements before they even know what they are talking about.

I cry. It's horrible that people are actually labelling a whole *breed* bad and mean because the OWNERS of some of these dogs aren't responsible!!! That's like saying all african americans are in gangs and shoot people, or all hispanics steal cars, or all caucasians are members of the kkk!! It's racial profiling in animals. Then these poor babies are sent to shelters that euthanize them rather than even trying to adopt them out because nobody will want a second hand pit bull anyway. It's sooo sad!

Why would we cry??? I live in KC. MO and there have been five attacks on people from pit bulls. Today on the news an eighty five year old woman was killed by a pit bull ! They are banded in five countys and today three more applied . The attacks were brutal and senseless and one of the owners is being charged with homicide!!

Omg after that video I watched someone posted on here I really cried..I haven't seen that in the real..just heard about, and I've always known Pitbulls aren' bad dogs...but when you see that video it assures you so much more. Especially with the stats and the end. In a study Labs and cockaer Spaniels were at the top for being the most likely to attack. Pitbulls were fourth from the bottom. :D How amazing. :D

It is sad that they get a bad rap. Unless you have raised one from a puppy and it was treated right, you wouldn't understand. An American pit bull is THE best dog to own. They snuggle, cuddle, pose for photos and entertain a crowd. I have an apbt and a min pin. The apbt looks up to the min pin-when I take them outside the pit won't come inside until the min pin does. The pit knows that female humans are sensitive and need to be protected. He enjoys hanging out with the male humans and "showing out" for them when he is playing with his toys. All he wants to do is please us and be with us-even if it means following us from room to room. He learns very quickly also. I could go on and on about my "big baby".................
