I don't try to shove my atheism down their throats, "au contraire"

They don't listen to reason and logic, so debating them is pointless. Arguing with a Christian is like playing chess with a pigeon, they knock over all the pieces, crap on the board, then fly home to their flock to declare victory. The only thing left is to shame them into giving up their silly, dangerous superstitious beliefs.

I dont think it is a question of feeling sorry. Your stance while admirable for wanting to help, I feel is misguided. Most people do not want help from religion they just want to be able to know that there beliefs as yours are just that, their beliefs. I am not a religious person, but I do feel that religion is a good thing for a lot of people. Religion, whether it is Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc all have different roots, but all lead to God just like rivers lead to the Ocean. I think that if one that does not believe in a certain religious path(or even if you do, probably more so), it is wise to atleast take a basic World Religions course, study the history of religions and know the how they started.

By knowing the history of religions, you can get a better understanding as to why people hold their faith so close and sacred.

My two cents. Think about this, we live in a time when people want nothing more than to MAKE people have the same opinions and beliefs as others, when we should embrace our individuality.

For all of you that are religious, be proud of your faith and embrace it, but do not force it on others or try to change people over to your religion, instead try to learn from others and share with others.

Those of you that are not religious, let people have their religion and try to be understanding with them as they should be with you.

Atheists and Agnostic people are cursed with the ability to feel true compassion without discrimination. Ignorance is bliss for the masses of blind followers. Feel sorry for the people that are negatively affected by the religious masses.

I'm amazed at the agnostics and atheists that regularly visit this "religion and spirituality" forum. If you really "don't care" or really "don't believe" what are you doing interacting with us that "care and believe". Let alone complaining because of our passion and zeal. If you really were SATISFIED with your non-religion you would be elsewhere. You're lost and scared. It's not too late to return to your Creator and His Son the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ.
Come to Him today - He will overlook your foolishness as He has done for each of us that now call Him - Lord,

It's actually more honest to be an agnostic since the existence of God can neither be proven nor disproven. With that said I am actually religious and I don't feel sorry for myself. So what is it that you call "help" that you have in mind for the religious?

Well, since many religious people feel very sorry for you, too, how about just trying "live and let live"?

You don't try to shove your beliefs down their throat, they don't try to shove their beliefs down yours.

Win/win.

Oh please don't feel sorry for me! I have already been helped by God every day of my life. I couldn't have taken my first breath without His ordaining it. And don't ever feel sorry for me for being a Christian. I've got a wonderful life because of a wonderful Lord and I have a wonderful home in heaven in the presence of God when my earthly life is ended.
