Which breed do you like better and why?

Well I have had both breeds I prefer my lab the best just because theres not much grooming with them. My golden was wonderful also they are both very smart dogs but for the grooming and if your thinking of getting one thats for you to decide which one you have more time to spend with grooming and all the golden is a beutiful breed and so is the lab Get both of them!HAHA

Sorry, I'm going to go against the grain and say Golden. My family owned one black lab and it wouldn't stop chewing everything no matter what my parents tried to train it. It started biting people. It had to be put down. Then they got a golden retriever and that dog was easy to train and very smart. She once was told to watch me so I didn't fall down the stairs when I was a little kid and she paced a circle around me, not allowing me to go anywhere, until my mom got back. Then my sister got a black lab a few years ago. That lab also bites people and it has a nervous disorder. She gets catatonic if she hears any loud noise like thunder or a truck going by. Like you could wave a steak in front of her and she wouldn't notice. (Tried it once with bacon.)
So I personally prefers goldens because of the experiences I've had.

I have had both.
Pappy was a black lab..
We had a yellow lab named teddy bear - bear for short..
and we had a golden retriever named - fuzzy wazzy. Fuzzy Wazzy lost his hair, for real.. allergic to a certain flea spray we used once.
Personally, I love all dogs.. but I think I would chose the Golden.. I like fluff. I like brushing dogs, an nuzzling into the sides of their necks..

I love both breeds. The major difference I have noticed though is that goldens tend to be much better tempered with kids.

Retriever is much intresting than Labrador.. they're cuter because of their lovely hair and for me, you look sufisticated when you walk with a retriever. Labradors are also cute but they look simmilar with the street Dogs here. :p

well I have a yellow lab/golden retriever mix and he is mellow, sweet and very handsome boy, so both are good but I like labs better.

They're both great dogs but I'll have to go with the lab because of the shorter hair. Easier to take care of.

Labs.....They are smarter then golden retrievers

I have 3 Bratadores (all 3 flavors)....Now I want to try the Golden....gimme gimme gimme.
But I like them both.
