I believe it. For some reason my moms roommate had a cat that hated my mom. She didn't mind me (cats name was Cooter..LOL) and well to make a it a short story, one day when my mom came home from work, she was sitting on the floor watching tv and Cooter came over and sat on her lap, which shocked the heck out of her. I was also amazed. She allowed my mom to even PET her. It was crazy! But it all ended, when my mom started feeling something warm on her legs, (she was wearing pants) and next thing my mom relized was she was being peed on. She got up walked to the door and acted like nothing had happend. Now, because of that I do believe some cats have an attraction to come humans and dislikeing others.

Cats have a very unusual way of adapting to people. They
can strongly sense when a person does not like cats and
the cat will be stand offish to that person. They feel threaten
and scared at the same time. There sense of smell also
plays a key roll with people as well.

Yes. Cats pick their owners\ masters \ friends I think. Some cats just will not socialize. I have a friend who does not care for cats. When he comes in my home my cat goes no whee near him. Never has. My cat picks his friends wisely. Cats are VERY perceptive animals.
So, I think the old saying "Look out if your dog doesn't like someone, also applies to cats as well.
They have their reasons. I hope this helps.

Hugh Laurie(but everyone is, lmao) That makes sense though. I'm not attracted to Billy Bob Thornton, but I get it. But I'm more attracted to James McAvoy then anyone for some reason.

animals and small children have a sense about all people. They know who is going to be nice to them and who has an evil soul. I have witnessed this all first hand.Even before babies have a sense of who is a stranger they will cry if someone tries to hold them that does not have a gentle soul.
