Yes. I think we are free most of us just aren't aware of it. We limit ourselves with religion, and cultural boundaries of expectations. I believe we are truly free, and born that way. I think we discover this when we begin to look within, and become unafraid of who we really are. When we begin to not block the truth of ourselves from others, knowing that some will not like us. Becoming awake to your inborn freedom can be frightening, however rewarding. Truth is most people look at others who are free, and they don't like what they see. Because most of those people who are free do not conform to societies rules. They make their own, and they aren't ashamed of that. They do not fear themselves or others, they are simple who they truly are with no need to regret. Many blessings on your quest for freedom, I hope you find what you are looking for.

Yes, and Jesus offers us that freedom. The two witnesses principal given to the Jews (mentioned about three times between Deut. 10-20), and later to Christians (Matt. 18:16, 2 Cor.13:1) authorizes things that if applied, authorizes many things that on the surface may appear to contradict something else.

True freedom isn't the freedom to do anything you want, but the freedom to do the right thing. CS Lewis (I think.) He was an Atheist before he was a Christian.

Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. I have been set free from the yoke of bondage and the sins that would so easily beset me.
