Get a wood wedding band, they are absolutely gorgeous and nothing had to die in order for you to have a ring. They are hand carved so they're one of a kind. Also, they are totally custom, you can mix and match the woods, click on the different styles and you'll see all the different variations.

Hematite rings aren't metal. You should be able to find them in the mall and they're not expensive.

Call a jeweler - not someone in the mall, I mean a real honest-to-God craftsman - and find out if there are any clear protective coatings that could be applied over a metal band. It would probably be pretty expensive, but I'd personally consider it worth it for a wedding bad.

Barring that... Some sort of stone, maybe? Or a tattoo? Is there any way to make a woven silk ring?

You can get a band made of Ivory. It is made from the tusk of an elephant. I do not know if you can find it at a jewelry store but you should be able to find it on the internet. Also you can always take a page from Angelina Jolie and Billie Bob Thorton. They not only had wedding band tattooed on their fingers but they put a drop of blood in a vial that they exchanged at their wedding to symbolize their committment. They gave each other their life force.. blood. Ok I know it didnt last for them but nice sentiments huh?

Sad to say, get a plastic ring that he can wear for the ceremony, or make one for him from string, again only for the ceremony. Then when the reception is over, he can remove the "ring" and never wear it again. There are a lot of men who don't wear wedding rings because they are in a profession where wearing that ring could cause them their fingers, hands or lives. Also, if he is willing have him put on a ring (only for the wedding ceremony and reception) paint the inside with finger nail polish, paint all the surfaces that will come into contact with his skin. Try it first with a ring that you haven't spent a fortune on. If it works you could get away with this for a temporary fix. Then put the ring away and never worry about it again.

I think a glass ring would be really cool. They can make some really nice things with glass, with colors and designs. You can even incorporate your wedding colors, favorite colors, birthstones, or whatever into the ring. I'm not sure where you would find such a thing, nor have I seen anything like that. But it would be really interesting. I would imagine you would have to go to a glass blower of some sort? Good luck!

Even gold? Ouch.
Try getting a tattoo wedding band. I've seen some really cool ones, and it lasts forever without getting lost or scratched! My friend's husband has a Claddagh ring tattoo.

Ivory?????? Aside from it being illegal to import into the US - why would you want to kill something as beautiful as an elephant??? Shame on this person for even suggesting it.

Perhaps you should focus on things that he's not allergic to and see an allergist to help pinpoint those things. It's very very rare for someone to be allergic to all metals, from a dermatological standpoint, but I guess possible. Hopefully something that fits your needs will present itself. : )

Oh, wow. Yikes... looks like you're in a fix, there! There's gotta be SOMETHING other than plastic or wood, right?!

um, a plexiglass wedding band? it's a thought, anyway. What about glass, though? it could work... oh! what about obsidian? it's pretty, at least. kinda dark for a wedding, but it works. it could be manly, too, maybe.

Make your own vow. It's just traditional way to get married and have a ring. People tend to give marriage its importance through it. If it was that important and it's what binds you together why are there a lot of people who are divorced and separated. so i say it's okay if you can't present one...be unique and make your own vow...to me that's a lot more precious than ring. things that make us happy are untouchable anyways
