"Tales of Power" and "A Separate Reality" are a big part of my Journey. They opened up doors further into the realm of the spirit world then anything else I found. I learned a lot and have moved on from there.

i got four of his works years ago(A yaqui way of knowledge, a separate reality, journey to ixtlan and tales of power). Very weird indeed. I also found out that he founded a cult or something. But the mescalitos and ally stories are really interesting and scary. The teachings of Don Juan are really hard to follow but what strikes me most is the teaching on the "direction". It seems to have some grain of truth on it since even before I've read Carlos' works I seemed to favor the North when sitting but only for some comfort not power. Of course its different with other people. It may turn out to be just preference though and not magical stuff. However, if you read stuff on Quantum Physics(quarks, colors, spins and all) then its interesting that it somehow parallels the idea of Don Juan that the world is not as we perceive it, and there's another way to go beyond the ordinary senses. A very good book on Quantum Physics is Gary Zukav's The Dancing Wu Li Masters.

I've read most of his books.
There's a lot of trippy yet far fetched stuff.
But there are some golden nuggets scattered throughout.
Use the nuggets, discard the rest.

Very good books...

Great reading... sometimes enlightening... sometimes weird...

but then I'm not into drugs for religion.

Love his work. I can't say I agree with all of it, but I do love his perspective.
