you can call him but you don't have to tell him you love him. just call and say what's up. you should let him say the words first.

I think you should try to meet up with him another way, when girls call guys, it's as if you are chasing him. You don't want that.
See if you can run into him someplace, and get to know him a little. Not sure if you do already.
If you do and can find a normal reason to call do, but don't ever chase a guy. It's man repellant sometimes, not all.
Let him come to you.
