Pure ignorance by not knowing the unconditional love that is put forth from Jesus.
Hard to understand, but free-will was the scourge of Adam and Eve, and is still the downfall of mankind.

Romans 6:12 tells us how sin entered into the world. Romans 4:16 advises us that our acceptance of this new love is based upon 'faith' - not works or law. We are saved by Grace through our faith in the belief that Jesus came to the earth to fulfill the law and that God sent him to show us how to love and because the 'sin' that was commited had to be handled, death of the most righteous was the only way to balance that sin and offer of forgiveness. The Word teaches us that we must confess "the Lord Jesus Christ" and believe that he came and died and rose again. God then - based on his knowledge of us - draws us to Himself and we are saved. Man has always wanted to complicate and make this salvation-thing more complicated than it is - but it is not. Once we have accepted - we are then reborn into the Family of God and are now heirs and joints heirs of Jesus Christ - thus sealing us to the day of redemption. The Word also teachers us Romans that there is no one, no thing that can pluck us out of His hands. We are safe and sealed. We are changed. Believe it, receive it. That is all. Nothing more. Then, we go about studying the Word and how we should live this life on earth - just as Jesus did - he went about doing good, healing the sick, he had compassion on the poor and needy, and that is all he asks of us. To serve as he served. To love as he loved (not as others love us - that is no mirror of comparison) Believe it - it is just that simple.

Does this count?? You anserwed you own question. It is looked upon by so many as hogwash because not all believe it. They look at it as "How do you know? Have you seen heaven?"
Until someone answers those questions, I believe more people would believe. Some just need more convincing than others.

How can you believe anything that cannot be deduced by reason? What makes you think that the Bible is anything but fiction? Ahh but you don't think, you believe. In my opinion beliefs are personal lies. Either you know or you don't. Just what do you need salvation from? The guilt others have ingrained in you since birth?

Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
It's that simple, yet it's the hardest thing in the world.

What you say is true. If you accept Jesus and are truly sorry for your sins you will have eternal life.

God didn't write your name in the Book of Life in pencil just to erase it every time you screw up (sin). It's written in with blood of Jesus.
