I think it is very wrong!! Not only is it illegal, but very dangerous!! Parents who dont put their kids in a seat belt are very irresponsible---weither you have 1 child or 6. Those parents need to get their heads out of their asses and think about the safety of their child!
Punishment should be: 1st offence: License taken away and 1,000 dollar fine. 2nd offence: 5 days in jail for child endangerment, and DCFS will be notified! if theres a 3 offence, then the parent has more problems than we thought !

Are you referring to Britney Spears? I don't know why anyone would be dumb enough to do something so foolish. There's simply no excuse for endangering a child's life. A child belongs in a car seat not on a grown ups lap. They should be punished by getting arrested, a silly ticket won't get the point across their foolish little heads.

i think that people (parents or not) should know better than to drive with a child on their lap. wether in the front seat or the back! it's just an irresposible thing to do. as for punishment they should have their liscence taken off them. unless they have an accident and the child is killed then they should be sent to jail....
i am also a mother and i am pregnant with my second. i cannot imagine ever putting my childs life in danger..

My husband "drives" with my son on his lap when he's pulling the car out. ABSOLUTELY NO WHERE ELSE! As far as punishment, it should be considered along the same lines as any child endangerment charge, plus the charge of not being properly restrained.

I think anyone who does not have their child properly secured in an infant/toddler/booster seat while in a motor vehicle should be fined $500 for the 1st offense , $500 4 weekends in jail for the second offense and the 3rd offense should be $1000.00 , community service , loss of license for 2 years and 4 weekends in jail.

Hell yeah.. they should be in seat belts/carseats. I think that when people are caught driving with them unrestrained that the person should be used as one of those test dummies. Let them see what it is like to go though the windshield of a car.

Actually it's against the law, and those parents will get ticketed. However, I think the kid should be taken away until the parents attend a child safety class.

I disagree with it, people think they are invincible but they really are not. Either way, I think that every person in the car should get their license taken away for ninety days first offense. Because everyone in the car allowed this to happen.

I've never seen this personally, but I'm sure it happens. I think these women (and men too, I imagine) should be given three chances. First one-ticket. Second one-ticket and heavy fine. Third one-Loss of drivers license.
