Yes, very ironic indeed!
The other day I went to the doctor and he smelled of cigarette smoke and was coughing like a coughing chimney!
Also recently I read about a doctor in his 30's who died of heart attack.
Imagine the pot calling the kettle black!

Ironic and hypocritical, yes. But that doesn't lessen the health risk of being fat. An alcoholic might explain to you the dangers of excessive drinking, but just because that person is alcoholic doesn't change the danger.

Yes, it is, but that is their job. They know that they shouldn't be fat, but if you go to the doctor for a disease or illness caused by being overweight or obese, such as high blood pressure, or coronary artery disease, or diabetes, they are bound to tell you to lose weight.

How right you are! I recall one doctor that told me in all seriousness that I should lose weight. He was at least, literally, 3 times my size! I guess it's that "don't do as I do, do as I say" thing. Some nerve.

No, because they are not ridiculing you, they are telling you of a fact that influences your good health. That is what you go to a doctor for.

yes it is, I once had a dr tell me I was overweight and when I mentioned he was too he said I could pay for another appt and we would discuss his weight. kind of like when they smoke and tell you that you need to quit.
