Sure, i believe in the power of prayer, and I'm only fourteen...age is of no significance whenit comes to prayer. When i was younger, i had both pneumonia and asthma, with several asthma attacks, and my breath was almost always short. I could've died, but i'm still here answering your question on Yahoo Answers, right? Also there are miracles everyday... If you really want to see some (probably much more interesting than mine you should check out a hospital How about this one: a father had a daughter dying of sever leukemia, eventually she also acquired kidney problems, and finally she faced death, but afer a few attempts at transplant it finally worked.
Here's another one from someone at a retreat:A guy was in med school, and what happened was he had a severe back problem. He didn't telll his parents until a several months later. His mother todl him to go to the hospital to have it checked out; he did and they learned some very shocking news: He had a tumor! He had several operations each time weaker than the first, and eventually he was incredibly near death. However he met people along his bedside that were just as sick and he told them about Christ, and lifted their spirits. Eventually some of the ones he spoke to Christ about died, but they did so happily with the knowledge that they could be saved.

You know how you get your faith lifted, you think about all the things God has done for you in the past. Remember that you are still alive and breathing. That He will never leave you nor forsake. God loves you. Prayer is a powerful weapon. If you ask you shall receive and if you believe that you already received you will have it. God granted the power to pray in the name of Jesus and what we pray, If according to His will or constant petition we will have it. Trust God, He brought you this far. If you have faith as a mustard seed you can cast a mulberry tree into the water. and a mustard see is very tiny. Spend time with Him, the more you spend time to more you trust, the more He reveals things to you and your relationship will grow.

Hebrews 11--The Faith Chapter
I prayed but rather spoke it into existence that I would get $500 dollars at my job for the safety drawing. Next thing I know they called my name over the conference call for $500. Most important thing just go ahead and give God the praise by thanking him. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Even if it doesn't look like anything is moving still give him the praise. Secondly, get your bible concordance and look up the word faith. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. Remember faith as a mustard seed. Imagine that seed is pretty, pretty tiny. Where two or three is gathered in his name it shall come to pass. Also, make sure you are in connection with God and there is nothing you need to repent of. Just believe!

Yes. I've been job searching for 3 years. I didn't know what I wanted too do. Finally I found my interest in Non Profit sharing and refugee placement. After praying and making the decision to change my career, I prayed for a new job. My family prayed as well. Last week I was offered a gov. job. I can't tell you how blessed I am.

Also, today, my mother received her Doctorates in Education. She has been working on it for 10 years. She's had a marriage, divorce and 3 major operations, but she didn't give up. She continued to pray and now she has a book deal, conferences to speak at and the word Dr. in front of her name.

God blesses us all. Even those that refuse to accept him as their God. Keep the faith. Pray and don't give up.

Remember: God only puts us through things he knows we can handle. Whatever the situation, know that God is there with you.

The last few years of my life have been gray, but I've always known that God would come through for me, and He did.

I do. I lost my husband suddenly 3 years ago after 40 years of marriage with no warning. He died in the hospital , and I have had to totally have faith in God for all my needs and support. He has guided me through some very rough water, and I am living proof today, that He answers prayer, I would never have made it without His loving hand being on me, I still hurt some, but it is alright. I know my husband is in heaven, and at peace.

i think prayer can help people mentally. It gives you a sense of release. When you pray, it is like you are putting your troubles into someone else's hands. It makes your burden lighter and you feel better mentally and emotionally. Things do get better because you begin to feel better. I don't believe that all of our prayers are answered, but I do believe that there is a reason for everything that happens and we just have to have faith and strength to be able to sit back and accept whatever comes our way!

Can't decide. I suppose by "power" you mean "power to get done something you want done". I'm not sure that's really power given the depravity of some of us. I can easily see someone praying for something that is somehow evil, not getting it and deciding that praying doesn't work. So, even if it has power we might not know.

In any case, prayer really has power only if God has power, God hears prayers and God cares what we think about His plan.

Yes! At 38 weeks of my pregnancy my lower abdomen was in excruciating pain. After five hours my husband took me to the hospital. My body was stretched to it's limit and couldn't handle carrying the baby anymore. To make matters worse, I found out I had pre-eclampsyia and hypertension. (The hospital was going to send me home anyway.) I prayed to God to please keep me. An hour later I was admitted. They induced me and when they checked the position of the baby for the third time, they accidentally broke my water. The babies hand was on his head and it came out first along with his cord. The cord was wedged between his head and the birth canal. After all was said and done, and emergency c-section was performed and my baby is healthy. (They told me if they would have sent me home my baby would probably not be here right now.) So yes, I really sincerely believe in the power of prayer. The lord protected and delivered my baby to me safely.

I do 1 billion percent. I know God always answers it just HIS timing not ours. one example of an answered prayer was we had 15 over for thanksgiving and was concerned they're might not be enough food so we prayed over it and there was so much food. It seemed that the more we took out the more God put in. We had so much left over we fed a family for a month just on the left overs.

Absolutely! But remember that prayer is not always answered the way you think it should be answered. The Lord will work in the best way through your prayers as it pertains to your detemined path.

Just praise Him, don't beat around the bush, be direct, and expect an answer to your prayers. It will happen. I speak from experience.
