Robert, I wouldn't worry too much about being a Muslim for now. As you stated, you're "just a kid" and kids are famous for changing their minds a zillion times before they become an adult.

When you were 5, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When you were 7, what did you want to be when you grew up?

How about 8, 9, 10 or......?

Why did you put a question mark (?) after your question? If your mind was made up, you would have used an exclamation mark (!). If you can't decide what punctuation mark to use, how can you be really sure which religion you want to follow?

You have my "seal of approval" for wanting to believe in God, but before you make a final decision, you need to do more research about Mohammed. If he were alive today, he'd be in jail for child molesting and worse!

This "prophet" used to see genies, hear voices and used to battle with Satan. He even attempted suicide several times. Is that an example of a mentally sane person or one who suffers from schizophrenia?

Mohammed was a bigot and extremely narrow minded. He did have a very charismatic personality and an unwavering conviction that influenced the simple-minded people around him.

All the cult leaders we know today are mentally insane; look at the case of Shoko Asahara, Jim Jones, the founder of Heaven’s Gate, David Koresh, etc. These people were not healthy yet they had their followers spellbound to the stage that death and life meant nothing to them.

The Muslim extremists honestly believe they'll be rewarded by killing people who don't believe in their version of God. Why? Because, once again, the simple minded are being led astray by a madman, Mohammed.

Are you really, really sure you want to belong to a religion whose prophet taught hatred, murder, and revenge?

In every major city there are a a few masjid's you just have to look. If you have to I suggest you move.

Till then I think that you should do some research they may be there. In the city I live there are two but only one is in the phone book. there is one 40 miles away also but it too is not in a phone book. there are 6 more 120 miles away one direction 4 are listed then 4 more 140 the other direction only 2 listed.

Just check it out.

Till then just keep reading the Quran on line till you get your own. And read the other web sites we have already given you.

Where do you live maybe we can help you find one

Muslims are encouraged to pray in mosques but it's not obligation. You can pray at home and will get rewarded by Allah. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged praying in mosques by saying that Allah gives 27 times more reward to pray in mosque than home. Maybe, after a few years, more people in your area embrace Islam or Muslims from other areas move to your area, then they all can work together and construct a new small mosque or dedicate an existing room/hall for a mosque. Till then, you can pray at your home.

This is the only decition you will never regret.

about the mosque : If you find that it's hard to get to the mosque i think you can pray in your house. but going to the mosque even if it was hard will be something very good to add in your Islam for God.

Another good idea: if you have any muslims around you you can gather them in the prayer time and pray together. it's just like having a mosque in your house.

You have choosen the right way.

Assalamo alaykom wa rahmato allah

if your question is true and you decided to convert to islam by heart then sure you knew a lot about islam, if so then you know that you can do all your prayers at home, the main prayer to be done in the mosque is al jomaa prayer, the rest is preferable to be done in the mosque but for those who can't for any reason then prayer could be at home, or even your car if you are travelling.

How old are you? who tought you islam that influnced you to convert? if you are really in to it i can send you some web sites to know more and ask ppl who knows better than me.

good luck for your choice, may god bless you

assalmualaikum robert and welcome to islam. what you can do is try looking on the internet or perhaps contacting some muslim brothers and see if they know of a mosque. keep in mind tho the only prayer you are obligated to carry out in a mosque is the friday prayer so you can pray at home if you know the direction of the qibla (mecca). if you want to you can contact me and i'd be more than happy to help you.

I'M NOT MUSLIM BUT MY HUBBY IS. ALL YOU NEED IS A PRAYER RUG. WE LIVE FAR FROM A MOSQUE TOO. MAYBE FOR RAMADAN YOU CAN MAKE THE TRIP TO THE MOSQUE. ITS ONLY ONCE A YEAR. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE MOSQUE TO BE DEDICATED TO ISLAM. ALLAH DOES NOT CARE WHERE YOU PRAY...... SA LAM MALI KO. "PEACE ON YOU"
