Before getting right with God I never cared about such things. There was something missing in my life that nothing seemed to fill. I did not like church services from start to finish. It was something to do on Sunday mornings. The fact was that I was a sinner and knew it. Nobody had to tell me. Ephesians 2
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. I received that gift in 1972. My life changed from being shy to out going. The hole was filled. I have been a quadreplegic for fifteen years after an accident. Everything that I had worked for was gone. I had been thrown thirty five feet from my car. My neck had been broken and fused. My pelvis was crushed. I must be put to bed and go on blue pads instead of a comode or bed pan. I urinate through a cathiter for my bladder. My left hip is permanently dislocated. Sever arthritis is throughout that entire leg. I had three cracked ribs. The perametics had to perform CPR on me twice before landing at the Hospital. . For two weeks I knew nothing. When i awoke, my body was unable to move even a finger or a toe. I felt so numb that needles were painless. It was like being dead but still alive. However, I had the promise which I trusted in. Hebrews 13:5:
5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Also was this verse. 2 Corinthians 12:9:
9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Timothy 1:12:
12For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Depends on your definition of God. At the very least your definition of Atheist is wrong. An atheist is not a skeptic, that would be an Agnostic.
Atheist - One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods
Agnostic - 1) One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God. 2) One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
For an atheist there is no proof of God period.
It's always easy for a person to say God doesn't exist when it's their own understanding of God that they are disputing.
If you study cybernetics and network theory and even quantum physics you'll find a lot of people talking about emergence and emergent intelligence. It is the best argument that can be made for the evolution of consciousness and sentience, but it does pose one problem for Atheists. While it could be verifiable prove that consciousness can emerge as part of evolution, that we could indeed create Ai that is just as conscious as us, the same principles apply to the emergence of a consciousness or sentience greater than man.
If you want to understand this stuff from an objective scientific perspective start by reading Kevin Kelly's Out of Control. It's an entertaining informative guide to what amounts to the current pinnacle or limits of man's knowledge. He talks about everything from AI to black holes and the birth of the universe in a very approachable way.
I also suggest if you are going to ask a question ask a question and don't just use it as an excuse to state your opinion on something, especially when you are attaching a label to yourself that you haven't even bothered to look up in the dictionary, or when your position is uninformed.
You probably should have started by asking, Am I An Atheist? And then spelled out the rest of what you did as evidence to be used for people to form a conclusion.

Generally, the reason for belief in God is that there can be no adequate explanation of the universe without a Creator. Things like car, plane, computer, house, road, bridge, television are made or create by human. So are the seven wonders of the world such as the great pyramid of piza and others are built by humans. So there must be something, a Supreme Being who creates a far more majestic things like the earth, sky, moon, humans, trees, grass, day night and etc.. Those who say it came about by chance are easily satisfied. So are they who say it all comes from blind evolution. It is posibble that all Nature, including man, has evolved and that all forms of life have come from primitive forms. But if so, this has happened in a complex way far more wonderful than anything man can make.
A young man who prided himself on being an atheist once came into the study of the famous 17th century astronomer, Kircher. He saw there was a very fine working-model of the solar-system. By turning a handle the planets could be made to revolve in their respective orbits around the sun.
"Very ingenious indeed," the young man remarked. "Who made it?"
"Oh no one made it," replied Kircher.
"Tell me, I want to know - who made it?"
"Nobody.It just happened."
The young man was annoyed.
"I see you are trying to be funny."
"Isn't it rather you who are funny? You cannot believe that this little model just happened, and yet you can believe that the real sun and moon and stars, the whole vast vast universe in facts, came into existence somehow without any Maker!"

science will NEVER give you an objective and absolute view of the natural world> The reason for this is because everything we study is "subjective" by our bodily senses...and our senses aren't reliable sources of communicating information, but "blurred" if you can picture it that way. Therefore, many things will ALWAYS remain unexplained or unclear about our world. God is not the "easy" answer, but the true and definite answer I believe. The reason being that God is beyond space and time therefore eteranal and creator of all. In a way God implanted his "signature" on our hearts just like an artist signs his work. This is how most of the world knows God exists. peace.

This is long but it has a point:
FEAR:
I go crazy when people try to push their beliefs on other people, I believe that everyone does things for their own reasons based on how they were raised. if you were told something were for a reason because of a certain reason you tend to believe it, especially if your told that that belief has existed for such a long time. To go agaisnt that belief is to deny the 'truths' (what people believe as truths) of the people before you.
It's the basic concept of fear of not believing in god, incase something happens, that questions your faith, IN most cases people fear their own damnation into hell. Or their children's damnation, so they pressure the belief into their offspring.
Infact forcing your own beliefs onto your young, is a form of traumatation. Why? Ever look at the bible? It's full of rape and death, and punishments beyond belief, no rewards, or kindness, even the most kind of people are beaten, and cursed, to prove that they are faithful by not turning your back on God.
If there is a god, that same god would not care if you believed in him or not, as long as you followed what you believe to be right.
So believing in him or not, based on facts or lack of facts, has no relevance if you are "damned."
God is not human, nor flesh. (if he exists of course), He does not have the sense of needign to be idolized, or sacrificed too. He doesn't need proof that you love or dont love him. Like a father, or a mother, god would love you no matter what. Your mother wouldn't hate you if you ignored her, or didn't know she was alive. She would be indiferant, and hope you were good, and did well for yourself.
Why would 'god' think any other way?
Basically, The FEAR, of god, or QUESTIONING god, in fear of being DAMNED, is why people are afraid to know the truth.

All of those things have common elements, atoms, protons, etc..., they are all exactly the same and have the same energy compounds, therefore, that very energy is the creator of all of those things you mentioned and must be "God". Why do atheists always believe that other people think God is some white haired MAN???? It seems looking for a comfortable easy answer is something atheists are guilty of too, huh?

I've never claimed that 'not knowing' is evidence that God exists. Unless you have had an encounter with the Living God, you can't even be sure that anything the bible says is true. Knowing God is everything.
If you're speaking of faith in God, the bible says it's the evidence of the things we cannot see.
You search for your truth and I will pursue mine.
PS- God DID do it...no 'must have done it' about it.

2 sided coin. Atheists, Why do you declare the "no longer understanding" is data that God does no longer exist. How did we get right here, I dont understand, bu I guess theres a theory How did the sky get right here? I dont understand, yet I guess theres a theroy How did the earth get right here? I dont understand, yet I guess theres a theory Why am I respiratory? I dont understand, yet I guess theres a theory The diffrence between God believers and Atheists is Atheists are looking for clinical solutions, to wich there are none 100% shown. Us Christians will locate an answer in faith that gives you us reality. we are able to settle for understanding beforehand we take any theory and run with it. My factor is, Atheists say you cant prepare it, so it would want to no longer be genuine. Christians say you cant disprove it so it would want to be genuine. Your argument covers all persons.

Why is all that important? We are here, with trees, sky, earth and with friends, neighbors and a world of adventures. Don't be afraid of adventures.
Some people like simple answers. For them, that is enough.
Beware of those who would make simple answers the state religion and require ten percent and extra offerings.
Science studies the measurable. That is good; from science we learn to make transistors and iPods. They are not particularly religious objects. But they are good.

The difference between God and things that you can't see is that we can see God through others. It's not like we're believing in something that's not happening, because it's happening all around us. People are getting healed of things, that they couldn't possibly be healed by, people are surviving hectic journeys, you can't just say that, that was just a coincidence. If you believe in the big boom, and that we were formed by simple cells and evolution, then you must believe in aliens, because there must be others like us that are born from "simple cells". In the end your going to have to face you choices in your beliefs, and are you going to believe in something that has no evidence like the big boom, or are you going to believe in God who sends miracles everyday?
