Yes, it's probably stress or muscular tension. Swollen glands, can cause it as well, but only if you have a throat infection, tooth or ear infection. I don't know your age, but I guess you are young, so don't worry, cancer is extremely unlikely in your age, and contrary to the common belief, cancer usually is painful in most cases (that's the scary thing about it).
Try taking Ibuprofen (2 tablets of 200 mg) 3 times a day for 2-3 days and it should take care of the pain if it's tension of inflammation. Only, take something to prevent heartburn (like Prilosec or Ranitidine which are sold over the counter), because Ibuprofen can be a little irritating to your stomach.
If your jaw and ear hurt too, could be parotitis (inflammation of a salivary gland) or an ear infection. So take the Ibuprofen as I said, however if you continue with pain and/or have discharge coming from the ear or auditory problems on that side, better get checked.

My guess: no. You may consider a visit to the Dr. There are several things it could be. I am a glass half full type of person,so I would agree and say stress is your villian. Check how you are sleeping. Try a pain reliever, that may be the least expensive fix. I hope you get to feeling better either way.

please don't take this answer sarcastically, because i mean it to be helpful: the pain in your neck is probably caused by the stress of stressing about whether or not it's just stress or something more.
please don't worry yourself to death with health issues. yes, be healthy and go to the doctor for checkups.and if it'll clear your mind, go get this checked out. but based on your question, you sound a lot like how i used to be - googling your symptoms, diagnosing yourself with every cancer out there, obsessively worrying about minor aches or pains or "weird" physical feelings. i think i literally worried myself sick for year to the point where i did have some minor health issues (pains, digestion issues, heart palpatations, etc.) turns out i'm OK, and after i stopped worrying so much, i pretty much feel normal most of the time.
if this is just one thing you're worried about, then i'm sorry to be paternalistic and preachy. i just don't want you to go treat yourself the way i did for so long.

It's NOT a TUMUH!
Uh, no, you just have an infection... even could be sinuses. Go right now to the pharmacy and get this stuff called "Ocean" saline spray and take a couple sniffs of that. Take some exedrine also. If that doesn't work, you may need a benadryl sinus. If that doesn't work, you may need an antibiotic. If that doesn't work, you may need to go to the dentist... but the oncologist, I seriously doubt it, mate.

We are a cancer fearful society who does everything to make cancer a firmer reality.
I should suggest your pain is not related to cancer. Might be a lympnode that is overloaded. In that case, I recommend a multi-source green powder supplement that you can get from a local health store and add 1 tablespoon in AM and early afternoon to water or juice.

It depends on your age too. It could be molars, it could be some little lump that doesn't mean anything. If you are nervous, get it checked out, but it's probably nothing at all.

I agree on stress. That can do lots of strange things to you. Maybe a muscle pulled, too.
