I was next to a guy that was in the left hand lane in a silver Grandam that was talking on his cell phone and reading from papers that he had laid up against his steering wheel.

Wouldn't it be easier if he just shot himself in the foot? If I find that I have to do more than talk on my cell while driving, I either ask the person I'm speaking to if I may call back later or I pull over. No conversation is worth endangering my life or others around me.

Thats crazy.
I would never read while driving. I have talked on a cell phone to get directions from someone, but I usually do not talk on a cell phone while driving either.

I got hit by a guy (in a green Jaguar) who was reading while his car was parked, and started his car without looking to see if anyone was crossing the intersection (which has no stoplights). Consequently I ended up on his car's hood with a damaged leg. I really wish drivers woud concentrate on the road and their environs. Driving a car is serious business!

Yup. I don't claim that it's a good idea. Many women can also put all their makeup on while driving too. It's a dangerous world out there.
