well judging from some of the lame responses that were given to this question, i would say that men are smarter. what does having a baby have to do with brains?? but in reality, guys tend to be smarter in logics (math & science), while women tend to be artistically smarter (language, arts)

Lets do it this way, I am a woman... smarter is not the right word. Genius comes in both sexes. Women are more in-tuned to what is happening with the big picture. Men on the other hand, are more in-tuned to what is happening on the page. The two sexes compliment each other on that. I have dated very intelligent men, and I have dated idiots... unfortunately it took me a few dates to pin point the idiots haha so does that make me less smart? No, because I wasn't focusing on just him, I was focusing on all aspects of the relationship. He was focusing on getting laid. Smart is not the right word. There are different categories of smart. There is academic smart, street smart, life smart, common sense smart... ya got to be more specific.

Women are guided by their feelings and instincts... men are guided by logic. YES there has been many super inteligent "girls" but let's see; England lost most of it's power under the regiment of a woman... Puerto Rico lost it's stature as a super economy under a governing woman...hm... Argentina was almost taken down by a woman, and ever since women were liberated... family values have gone... well down. Are they more intelligent? Maybe... are they supposed to be doing a mans job? Hm...

Both. Men and women process information in different ways. The sex of a person has nothing to do with intelligence.

It would have to be on a case by case situation. I know plenty of stupid men and plenty of ridiculous women. To say that one gender is inherently smarter than the other simply because you are a member of that gender, is stupid.
However, may I suggest that when you write a question about who is smarter---you should really check your spelling because it makes you look stupid. :)

i have met some dumb men and some dumb women...i have met some very intelligent men and some very intelligent women...so it is not a gender thing...it is a personal thing...either a person is smart or they are not....
