If you eat too much salt in your foods, it can make you retain more water and cause you to have edema - which is bloated skin, and it is dangerous (and painful) if it doesnt go away.

Also it is possible to drink too much water and actually get a kind of water poisoning that can kill you just as drinking too much alcohol at one time can kill you. People have actually died drinking too much water in order to pass a drug test etc, to try to get fake results by "watering" down the chemicals in their body. The proportions of water that they drink would be a lot more than just the average daily intake.

Water is necessary for your body to function correctly and any imbalance whether too much or too little, is harmful. Water has no calories, unless you get bottled flavored waters that have additives. A diet with too many calories, too little exercise, improper eating habits - all these will cause obesity, not just water. There is a difference in being fat or bloated.

No, too much water makes you pee a lot. Water actually can make you lose weight by flushing the kidney. The only way you might gain weight as a result of water is if youve had a lot of salt. Then that would be the salt that make you gain weight.

Make you fat?! Good grief no! There's no calories in water, so you can't gain weight from it. The most you can do is retain water and get bloated, but that's about it.

Of course not. water has no calories nor fat what so ever. However, you can be temporally fat by the water weight you store in your body. Then you drain it out by..... you know where I'm getting at.
