Are you saying that her personality has changed? It depends on what you mean by "old". She could be experiencing menopause,
which might affect her moods. If she is "elderly" there is possibility of Alzheimer's disease http://www.alz.org/AboutAD/WhatIsAD.asp

You do not really give enough info on exactely what "old" is and what "funny" is. However, if she is over 70 and she is not acting like her normal self, it could be depression, or with the current heat wave it could be dehydration. My mother-n-law was acting a little groggy and slurring her words just enough to notice it,,we found out by asking lots of questions that she had not been drinking any water. She somehow thinks that coffee is a good water substitute when that is far from the truth. Anyway, she was dehydrated and we had to take her to the ER to get her fluids. After that, she was as good as gold.

Honey, if your mom is acting funny, kinda like not herself, get her to the doctor, or the ER asap.. She could be sick, I don't know how old is old, but if she is on Social Security, then definitely take her in or call 911.. She could be having a stroke or something worse. Ok..

Is it possible that she is old enough to be going through menopause? This can cause mood swings, depression, etc no matter how healthy you are. Check it out on yahoo.
