Canned tuna in water is absolutely NOT fattening (look at the can- it has almost no fat - Chicken of the Sea canned Albacore tuna packed in water has 1 gram of fat per serving - 2 servings per can)! It's what you add to it that makes it fattening. What I do (and like) is use Best Foods mayonnaise that only has 2 grams of fat, add chopped celery and a little chopped red onion and salt and pepper to taste. Don't junk up the tuna with a lot of other ingredients, or you won't even taste the tuna. Delicious and so non-fattening! Use for tuna salad or in a sandwich or in pita rollups with lettuce and cheese. Don't drench the tuna with the mayonnaise, just moisten it until it gets a nice consistency. You won't be able to tell it from the regular high fat Best Foods, I swear. Just don't make the mistake and get the nonfat mayonnaise. You can taste the difference. The nonfat mayonnaise is HORRIBLE. Hope this helps!

Uh you shouldn't starve yourself. Just don't have the tuna for breakfast. It's actually great for your during lunch and dinner, as long as you exercise. If you are eating whole grain bread, don't starve yourself and eat less than one slice. You should be eating at least 1500 calories every day. The thing is with dieting, you should be exercising, and only eating healthier foods, not less food. It's why most diets fail, because people don't actually exercise at all.

There's nothing wrong at all with eating all of the tuna you wish. It's very healthful. It helps control cholesterol in your arteries and is pure protein. Just because something says "whole wheat" doesn't mean it's a "whole grain" product. It's much better to eat whole grains than "whole wheat" because the latter may have sifted white flour in it. No problem with eating a whole slice. If you're counting carbs, that's about all you eat of it though.

My husband got a sheet of specific things to try and eat more of from his doctor a month ago, because his doctor feels he should go on a diet (he should!!), and fish was listed, but it also said to avoid tuna, shark, and other "fatty" fish.
Anything is fine, in moderation. But since you are on a diet, I would say no. And yes, you can eat a whole slice of whole wheat bread.

Tuna is healthy, but not if you are mixing it in with mayonaise. Also, bread isn't bad for you, unless you are on a carb diet, then it's considered bad. But whole wheat bread is healthiest, and some people think carbs are not the only thing that matters anyhow. Consult your doctor for what diet will work best for you.

Use lettuce and put a can of tuna on it and then get good seasons dressing in the packet that you make yourself. Make it but instead of the oil just use all water. Its really good.

I used to make tuna burgers that were really good. Take a can of tuna, and in a bowl mix in some mustard, celery, onion, and one egg. Just till it all comes together and form into patties and grill.
