I used to live there in 1987 til 1991 and I was wondering have things changed very much.

I lived there 1985 to 1987 and went back Sept of 2005. There is a lot more traffic! A lot of the old bars are either gone or called something else. Davy Jones locker, Waikiki Beach, no more. The Lollipop, now is stores. There are more high-end stores and a mall on Kalakaua. Pretty much everything looks the same. I had no problem getting around and remembered where everything was. There were also more popular restaurants like Planet Hollywood and such. Waikiki Beach has shrunk because of higher tides and you can't walk down to the Shorebird anymore on the beach, its all seawall. They've torn down some of the rickity houses and put up apartments. Go back to visit! It's a trip to be away so long and then go back. I loved it!

Well I haven't been back home since 2005 and pretty much the only thing that changed is the TRAFFIC its worst. As usual things are still high, which is one of the reasons why many locals are moving to the Mainland. Other than that the weather is still great and I choose the Islands weather anytime over the Mainlands weather.
