My husband gave me a bouquet of roses that I have let dry out. How do I now preserve them to make a wreath?

Lime, lime is the answer. Got to the local home depot and buy lime. All the Florests and Window decorators would use lime in New York City.

Pick them and put lime in the water, somehow it goes into the stems and preserves them.

A longer answer to this technique is the odd tendency for Saints and the curious preserved persons in Italy and Rome's catacombs that were held togther with lime. It works.

How you ar going to make a wreath by bending the now dried out Roses is another issue. I suppose, use a clothes wire hanger as a broad arc, circle and try to bend the stems after preserving around the wire, but go no more than the natural flex of the stem. Where it stops bending, use garbage ties to hold onto wreath frame, clip off extra length. Add extra stems and green stuff to fill in or fluff out.

All is Well,

To experience your roses as long as possible, use the floral preservative that got here along with your bouquet. Mix the preservative (following directions on the packet) with warm water. Make sure that your vase is smooth, add the water with floral preservative into the vase. Cut about half of inch off of the stems of the roses then organize in vase. After enjoying your rose bouquet, while these are still contemporary and you decide to retain your roses, wrap the stems with cord or rubber band and grasp the wrong way up. The exceptional region to hang your roses or any flora is in a warm, dry and dark region with just right air circulation. The darkness prevents colour fading and the dry, warm and air circulation inspire moisture evaporation. Assess for your plant life ordinarily to hinder overdrying. Experiment if they're dry and inflexible, if so, your renovation efforts are whole. Organize your roses the way you want it and location in a cool, dry area faraway from direct sunlight.

Go to your local craft store and purchase what is called Silica gel. This is what is called a desiccant. (The stuff that comes in those little paper pouches when you buy things like new shoes that keep the moisture out). You have to buy enough to cover your flowers (it's like sand) and this will remove all of the moisture from your flowers while keeping their shape. They keep their shape because it would only take maybe a day or two. Good luck!

hello,
You hang them up side down in a dry and dark place. When it's dry you spray with an hair spray;
In winter time you can spray some gold paint it's lovely for decorating a table for example.
See you!

You spray them with hairspray, this way it will keep the pedals from falling off. I've done it a million times.

I AGREE WITH THE SILICA GEL. I HAVE USED IT AND IT WORKS WELL. IT KEEPS YOUR FLOWERS FROM BEING TOO BRITTLE. IF YOU SMASH THEM IN A PHONE BOOK THEY'RE GONNA BE A LITTLE FLAT AND DRY. JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS.
