Fill out and file the I-129F form by mailing it (and appropriate fees) to the service center in your area.

Read all the instructions carefully.

Be prepared to wait for about 9 months.

Good luck.

The first thing to do is to find out if the American Consulate in Mexico has a procedure called "direct consular filing". This is the fastest way to get an immigrant visa. You would have to marry in Mexico and follow the steps that they would indicate. Not all the American Consulates have this option (cross your fingers that they do).

The other option would be to file for a K-1 (fiance) visa, but that will take at least six months for her to get the visa to come to the U.S. to get married. You would have to marry within sixty days.

Good luck!

Have her come here on either a fiance visa or a tourist visa. Get married and then begin filing...Please make sure to follow every step, pay the fee's, present all documents necessary, they will ask for stuff like birth certificate, last couple of income tax returns, etc, etc. Just make sure to follow all the steps and keep up with all the paper work.

One last thing, once you started the process, your fiance cannot go back to Mexico....If she does, she will NOT be allow to come back in.....If she needs to go to Mexico for an emergency, she will have to get special permission. If you follow all the steps, she should have her residency in about 2 to 3 years. It cost us about $3,000 by doing it ourselves, with no attorney involved. Good luck.

Michael-If you visit the USCIS website at
www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/index.htm where you can read up on Visas and the required forms to fill out, costs to file the forms and the length of time to expect your fiance to have to wait to enter the country (if she is not here already).
You can also visit your local Immigration Office to speak with an Immigration Officer. They will give you clear instructions about what forms need to be filled out. Best of luck to you! :)

Do NOT follow the bone-headed suggestion to bring her to the US on a tourist visa and then marry her. That can result in a permanent ineligibility; that is, she may never be allowed legally into the US again.

USCIS is a useful site, but this is better because it explains the entire process.
