I wouldn't say that I am merely religious. I definately am a christian. I believe that GOD sent His only Son Jesus Christ to save my sorry soul. I have just recently become a full fledged christian after knowing about GOD my whole life. Now I not only know about Him,but I have an ever growing relationship with Him. I do not do this out of peer pressure or any other reason than to ensure my soul eternal life in a place much better than earth.

I am because I don't want to think that after this life there is nothing else. I want to believe that we are here for a reason and when we die that its just black and nothing. Like when the power goes out at night because of a storm. You are sitting in the light with the TV going and then boom! Its black and time just stopped for that second and all there is, is black. Can't see and maybe its quiet. I don't want to think that is what happens to us when we die. I want there to be another life after this time and go onto do something else. I don't believe that God made us to live for such a short time and not "recycle" us in some way. That is what keeps me going from day to day.

The book of James says that God's idea of good religion is keeping yourself from becoming poluted and helping people in need.
So I would say I aspire to be religious because I don't wanted to become tainted and I want to help people.

there's this point when you get to a certain point in your relationship with God
where you start seeing, knowing, experiencing things that are not of the human realm
its amazing really
Believe it or don't but I got into a dispute with God once, and his way of disagreeing and getting his point across was thru thunder, and he cut the electricity . He wanted me to do something I didn't want to do. Sucked too. I was in the shower and it was pitch black... I got scared as h*ll because that's scarey... and I yelled at him that I'll do what he wanted and then the lights went back on.

Because I had an experience where I met my father and grandfather. Both had been dead for many years at that point.
But details of the event and the clarity of my experience convinced me there are aspects to reality that defy explanation or study by modern science.
That's no slam on science, I believe eventually it will reach a point where it can explain faith-based realities. Till then, I'm left with my experience, my understanding of it, and my faith in it.
That's sufficient for me.

It is really the everyday for me. My reality is a religious reality. To some people thinking that God is here for us is not an everyday belief.

Because I believe, I have faith, and for me it is an expression of who I am and who I serve. Why are you religious?
