Yes there's an optimum amount of sleep. The avg is about 8 hrs for adults but varies from person to person.

Sleeping for that amount of time is definitely a sign that something in your chemistry is off track. Depression is the first thing I thought of, but excess sleep is symptomatic of various illnesses. Your first clue is that you feel rotten when you get up. Take the time to have a professional (Dr) check you out. Good Luck!

YES I DO THINK A PERSON CAN SLEEP TOO MUCH! My sister's 20 years old and i'm 15 years old and she sleeps twice as much as i do when your young u need alot of sleep , but when u hit the age of 17 & higher u don't need too much sleep. I mean i,m 15 and i don't go to sleep until 11pm and wake up until 7am . when u sleep more u are much more tired when u wake up thats happen to me alot just try not to go to sleep so early and set the alarm to as early as 6:30am to7am.

I think so. There's an optimal amount of sleep for each person. Too much and you feel drowsy and un-alert. Too little and you feel drained and weak.

Yes you can sleep too much. My mother used to call it "sleep drunk." LIke you were drunk from too much sleep.

Get yourself checked for depression; excess sleep is a huge warning flag for it.
