My grandfather was 28 years older than my grandmother and they had 5 children and a good relationship and marriage for 30 years until he died aged 82. Unfortunately it was never the same for my grandmother afterwards although she lived also until the age of 82. Depending on the people involved I think age CAN just be a number.

A woman can date a man 11 years younger, a man can date a woman 12 years younger, beyond that I think the generations will loose the connection of liking and doing the same things because world (the songs and TV shows and political viewpoints) change too much. If either is not careful only one might fall in love and the other might just be using them. It's probably more important to really get to know each other the more years difference the age.

The age difference generally doesn't matter. Of course, It matters if one person is under 18 and the other one isn't. It also matters if one person is in their late teens/early twenties and the other person is in their late 20's/eary 30's. I say this because I notice a big difference in maturity/wants/needs/etc when a person is in their late teens/early 20's and when a person is older than that. Sometimes I wonder why a person in their 20's would date someone in their 40's, 50's or above. It could be love, but it could also be because they want money/possessions or they are unable to relate to people their own age or they desire a daddy/mommy. All three of those last three reasons doesn't always lead to the most healthy relationships.

A healthy relationship regardless of the age difference is up to the two of you and how happy you are together. It's not all about sex, but the understanding of one another.

The older you are, the less it matters. There is a huge difference between an 18 year old and, say, 25 year old, but not as much between a 45 year old and 60 year old. It is because of the stages that you are at in your lives.

Well, Anna Nicole was with somone who's old enough to be her great-grandad. It was healthy, and they worked until death did them part.

Any age difference can work. Sometimes age difference works better than two people of the same age. When I say age difference, I'm talking May-December

I would say about no more than 30 years older... I also agree that it doesn't matter as long as they are happy ...

I know that in age difference there is a big difference between maturity levels... but you can also learn from each other..

Youngest must be at least thirty, I think 25 years difference is okay. I specify the younger one being thirty so they really know what they are getting into. Later in life the difference becomes more pronounced and I think the younger person should be able to imagine the future realisticly and have it together.

Age is not suppose to matter in a relationship, however, i had 20 years difference between me and my "ex" and it definitely made a difference. We did not stay together very long.
