Seriously, what is wrong with these people? I don't think the stewardess was being racist, but I do think some of them have gotten really aggressive and nasty towards paying customers. I was on a flight from LA to Chicago in 2004 after a sleepless 14-hour flight from Australia. This stewardess freaked out about my carry-on bag being underneath my seat, and demanded I put it in the overhead bin. It had my magazines, food and everything, and I had basically taken like 5 legs of flights to go to Australia with no problem before then.

I feel 9/11 basically is not an excuse to treat the average traveler, if not person like dirt. We should not have to pay everyday for one day of terror. It's a shame you can't tell some of these stewardesses off, because then they'll call the cops like little children. From what I've seen, the law seems to side with them most times too, which is a shame.

Yeah, whatever, it was under the seat in front of me, sorry.

The airline industry has gotten really ridiculous after 9/11. I am in air freight exports, and as an air traveller myself, I can see that the TSA is a big mess. The laws are unclear, and within the agency, most of the agents don't know what's going on. Everybody is interpreting the laws themselves. The airlines themselves are very confused as well, due to almost daily changes in regulations. And it is true, a lot of people will take advantage of the situation to be complete jerks. It is really sad that a lot of people believe that they should put up with the cruelty, because it prevents future terrorist attacks.

For your situation, you are only allowed to place bags in the overhead compartment or under the seat in front of you. Under your own seat is a no-no.

As a person who has managed to get sectioned out into every special line at the airport until they stopped, yes I agree. I think that the both the government, and the airlines are taking advantage of the situation by getting policies they've always wanted to put in place but never had a reason to do so.

No, the conflict isn't effective in any respect. Al Qaeda continues to be accessible and we don't be attentive to what number guy they have, the place they're, and what they're doing. all of us be attentive to easily no longer something approximately them. this could properly be a conflict that is going no the place. If we would prefer to win the conflict, we could be attentive to our enemy properly, yet we are actually not. definite, we discovered some terrorists who's making plans yet another attack, yet we did no longer get that information in time as properly. they have abort the operation in the past we even caught them. And now they're in custody, all of us be attentive to no extra effective than we did.

No I do not think the airlines have gotten paranoid.

Perhaps if you had opened your bag & shown it to the stewardess or even told her what was in it she may have been more kindly. Perhaps there were some other actions that she felt needed to be addressed or perhaps some other passenger had complained.

I was near the WTC on 9/11. If security had been a little more "paranoid" then, all those people lost might still be alive today and we might still have the WTC. It's a dangerous world. Enhanced security is worth a little inconvenience.

They took away my cosmetic scissors and fingernail clippers. They didn't even offer to replace them!

Now I'm sorry, but if some guy threatened me or others with a pair of fingernail clippers, I'd take him down- and I'm sure no one else would be threatened by them, either. I'd rather they screen all the checked baggage for the REAL threat... explosives.

The airplane that hit the world trade center flew over my house that morning and still today every time I hear a low flying airplane I feel knots in my stomach so no I don't think they are being paranoid.

I don't think you would like your hometown blown off the map because of someone else's carry on bag. Follow the rules and quit complaining

Blame Bush and his Patriot act. He is the one who ordered the drone flights be flown into the wtc and pentagon to instill fear and paranoia and allow him to wage war without restraint. Don't believe me? google loose change 2nd edition it will make you want to return to Australia.
