First no other nation can sustain an attack here, the logistics makes it impossible. We have vast oceans on both sides. Even the Russians and Chinese can't do it. They just don't have the air Force that it would require. WE are the only nation able to fight on the other side of the world. With our 21st century tech coming into play now the odds of us ever being attacked and having to fight a war here have been reduced to almost 0.

For me, it would depend on what the government had done. If the government was practicing genocide or widespread violation of citizen's rights, I would be a collaborator. If I agreed with the government's position, I would fight the invasion.

If I disagreed with the government's position, but did not feel it was serious enough to warrant an invasion, I would fight the invaders.

So,

If they invade because the U.S. has decided to intentionally wipe out an entire civilian population, I take up arms with the invaders.

If they invade because U.S. taxes are too low, or because we don't sign the Kyoto treaty....I'm shooting the invaders.

Regardless of the reason for war, if someone tried to come over to my house and kill my family, I would fight. I would not however join the military to fight in a foreign land against people who actually have not done anything to harm me though. Once the government proves, which they cannot, that we have been attacked by terrorists, then I will support the wars.

I kind of alluded to the answer to this question when I answered your first and second question in your posting of the second question.

If our government acted unjustly against a just nation I would not blindly defend my government. That would be the equivalent of defending injustice. Furthermore it would make me into a sheep, which I like to think I am not.

Another nation attacks us, and you ask if I'm going to compromise? Now this is what bill clinton would do. I'm not bill, I want who ever attacked to be dead. end of story
