well, I think that God can help the outcasts, because he is the ultimate consoler, but that doesn't mean we cant do our best to love the "outcasts" no matter who it is, everyone deserves love because Jesus told us to everyone like we love ourselves

She means that everyone is created equal in God's eyes, and therefore people shouldn't be prejudiced against others that do not have the same skin color or social status. It is a valuable sentiment. She's not necessarily referring to a particular God, though the entire movie (book) centers around the church, so it is in context with her personal beliefs.

AMEN.
We are all the children of God...so why should He not help the outcasts?
Loved the movie!

I think it was to mean that since people won't help the outcasts, only one who can is God.

I really enjoyed that song and that movie. I think it was the last hand-drawn animated Disney movie I saw in theaters.

She feels like God's not listening, that God's not helping her people.

I think it's a wonderful sentiment. Too bad many Christians don't act like they believe it, specifically in their opinions toward Gays.

Like the child catcher in "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang" Beware the trust of those we bestow our children's minds.
