(Matthew 7:12) how would you want someone to relate to you if you were lost in the world and didn't know God? would you want someone who knows Him to reach out and tell you about him?

i mean should we just act like nothing has happened to us? shouldn't we be sharing the truth and love? and stop acting so rude and selfish? shouldn't we let Christ shine through us instead of always be out trying to find ourselves?

Somebody did. I am now born-again and eternally grateful for that. Reaching out and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ is after all, the great commission our Lord left us with. We must reach out with the love of Jesus.

Sure I would. But the thing is that we often don't know the most effective way to relate to the many different types of people we come across. Some people are like Sgt Joe Friday "Just the facts maam".

Some people want you to listen to them and relate to what's going on in their life at that time. Some people are very sensitive and defensive and if you don't phrase your words with care you can offend them without intending to.

That's why you need to ask the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts and to speak through you.

Yeah.. but I still don't understand what your getting at.. that we as Christians should follow other peoples examples and get in their face or go door to door.. Uh uh. I don't believe that for a minute.
The commandment to go into all the world and preach the gospel.. there is more than one way to do it.
A few years ago, our youth went to New York on a missions trip. They simply handed out tracts to anyone that would take them, but did not get in anyones face - they did not "preach" unless asked a specific question.
Some can do that - but I don't think God meant for ALL of us to do so.
