Hostility! to Christians and Non Christians?

Question

There is a lot of hostility on this portion of the site. Mostly Christians vs. Non-Christians. Which to me is completely understandable b/c the Bible says that we will be persecuted and blessed for suffering if it is for doing good (like preaching the gospel) BUT not if we suffer for doing bad (like calling names). the Bible wants us to be like Christ and if you can't picture him saying what you're typing to someone here, then don't do it.
To the Non-Christians, I don't expect you to be nice to me because of this, but a lot of you seem to have been hurt or frustrated or confused by well-meaning Christians (my brothers and sisters) and I just wanted to apologize. I'm sorry.

That's true!!!...For all of the peeps that are Christians...you don't have to always battle w/ the enemy(non belivers)...It's just satin trying 2 test u... keep your composure and remeber...you are a living witness and you should be setting an example for the (non believers)..

I don't know what you have to apologize for. I'm the one that should apologize. I have typed things that maybe weren't wrong but I certainly couldn't see Jesus sitting here and typing those things either. You make a good point and I will watch myslef from now on.
I have never EVER called anyone names - for whatever reason -except in joking (like calling someone shorty ect)
But I do understand what you mean. I asked a question about Joseph Smith and was told I HATED everyone that didn't believe the same way I did. But it's ok if THEY don't belive the same way I do. (Rolling eyes now)

The "persecution" here on Yahoo is not the type of persecution mentioned in the Bible. The leaders of the Christian Coalition are not being hung on crosses (Philippians 2:8). The leaders of the Family Research Council are not being stoned to death (Acts 7:59). The leaders of Focus on the Family are not being thrown to the lions (Daniel 6:16). And yet these people have the gall to claim they are being persecuted in God's name. They are not. All they have to worry about is someone calling them bad names and denying them their request for favoritism.

If you are christian then do some door to door ministery and offer other people the knowledge of salvation that you seem to posses or do you keep this to yourself?
Jesus and his disciples preached from door to door and town to town spreading the news of the kingdom.
How much active ministry work do you personally do in preaching this to the population?

Christianity has lost it's real meaning... to not judge, to be humble, to try to be as Jesus. The christians today preach prejudice and hate. They judge things like homosexuality saying it is not natural and against God, all the while, they are at home having oral or anal sex, having sex outside of marriage and resenting paying taxes by blaming it on helping the needy.

you know what! i admire a lot of Christian people but the thing i dont like and the reason why im not one of them its cause the think that anyone that isnt Christian is bad and its going to hell, they judge everyone. I may not be the best but at least im not thinking that i deserve heaven and you dont.

You are so right. I am guilty to a certain degree. 9/11 was very emotional and traumatic for me so I get very angry with muslim questions. That's about where it ends. Everybody else I listen to and tolerate and pray for. But, nonetheless, you're right.
