a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Hahahahaha. That’s so funny. Ya cause:
1)Burning an animal alive smells so great everyone should do it… all the time.
2)Depends with a father like you, you’ll probably have to pay some to take off your hands.
3)Be celibate for the rest of your life.
4)Yes you can own a Mexican & a Canadian if you can find a dog from Mexico & another one from Canada.
5)No you are not.
6)Neither are an abomination.
7)Yes, you need to have 20/20.
8)They shouldn’t (die.)
9)No you can’t.
10)No, don’t stone or burn them, in public or private.

Hope this helps. If you ever need any more guidance feel free to email me.

Those laws are under the Old covenant...there is now a New covenant...

Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

We are no longer under the law...

Galatians 3:24-25 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

This is where someone will say that Jesus overturned the OT, when (as has already been demonstrated on this board using quotes from the bible) Jesus' position on the OT was the exact opposite.

He specifically said that his followers are bound by the OT laws. Actually, he said this many times.

(of course, most christians have no idea what's actually in the bible, anyway)

To borrow from another poster, in order to prove that all of these people dismissing the OT are factually WRONG about the bible and Jesus' teaching regarding the OT:

NONE OF THE LAWS OF GOD ARE DONE AWAY WITH.
Mt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
7TH DAY SABBATH
Ex 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Ex 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed

Mt 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Lu 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
1jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1jo 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Re 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.

I can say that you are one who don't have much of your own thinking.
Whatever people said/comments is for your info, follow or not is up to you.
Religion is just a guide, we have to changed according to the century and government rules and regulations that we are in.
We don't take things in our own hand.
Following too closely to a bible will make you loose your life. You have to starting living for yourself and not for others or god.
We don't sell our next of kin, they are money that can't buy.

Many ceremonial laws are not observed because the temple is gone. It has been gone since A.D. 69.
However, the spirit of the law remains.
