Never ever give up on being good. This will be your strength when you get older. Have faith. What is the advantage of being bad? Good will always come out in the end.

when i was little i was a 'good kid' which meant i played it safe and always worried about my dad's wrath or some punishment. i was careful and sly. all my goodness covered up a desire to do some really bad stuff to get back at others (my parents). my 'goodness' lost me a lot of interesting adventures and experiences cos i just couldn't risk being hurt or threatened by my frightening parents. my courageous brother on the other hand did a lot of stuff and took a lot of savage beatings from dad over it! i felt both sorry for and envious of my 1 yr older brother - he had guts! i was just way to chicken to take a risk and step out. i figured my 'Mr nice guy' image would spare me a lot of whippings and it did but I'd say cowardice is no way to live and definitely no way to have fun in life even if it's not about doing bad things.

I grew up the "good kid". My little sisters always seemed mad and called me a suck-up and the like. I thought I was weak, boring, ignored, and really didn't like myself. I am now fast approaching 30 and guess what? It is better now. I have had the chance to talk with my sisters as adults and they were mad because they thought something was wrong with them that they were always in trouble, they thought that they were stupid because I did well in school. Now we have a great relationship and try to resist the urge to compare our children as we once compared ourselves. Don't try to be the perfect child, the perfect sibling, the perfect student etc. Just be who you think you should be; do what you think you should do. Try not to compare yourself and try to see your siblings' reactions from their point-of-view.

P.S. Getting in a little trouble (just a little) isn't catastrophic (especially as a child). Don't be afraid to relax, a little.

Don't be a good kid expecting to get things out of it, be a good kid because you know you are doing the right thing. Trust me, God will reward you later on in life for doing the right things. Keep up the good work :]

Yeah, being the good kid doesnt always pay off right away. but it will pay of in the end. just try not to go overboard with it.

You continue to be the good kid. Don't be tempted by those who feel otherwise, it doesn't last in a positive way.
