I have heard that there is a correct way to pray. I always pray while I'm driving or when I'm laying in bed at night and something is on my mind. If I am not praying correctly, does this mean for years my prayers aren't being heard?

Do not pray while you are driving. If you hit me because your mind is not on your driving you will need to pray.

well, Christ said that, when you pray, don't pray like the hypocrites who love to be standing in the synagogues (the church) and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Christ said to pray to the Father who is in the secret place...a man who i've come to know as a wise teacher told me that the best time to pray, or do something good, to reach out to touch another's life, is when you feel the need-right then! the Lord does hear your prayers-He sees into your heart-there is nothing that can be hidden from Him...so pray how you feel led to pray, when you feel led to pray, and where you feel led to pray! no one can stop you from praying-regardless of whether they like it or not-you have the right to pray whenever and wherever and however...and no one can take that from you! God bless

Your time with the Lord is whenever you want it to be. Just be sure to keep it His time. You don't have to be meditating for your prayers to work.
I pray while I am driving, while I am cooking and when i am in the shower. Sometimes I will pray on the spot. People look at me weird...but thats OK!

You should always close your eyes to pray. Please make sure you do this next time you pray and drive, it'll help you to get to heaven much quicker. Try not to take an atheist with you though, we've only got one life and it isn't followed by ecstacy with a mythical being.

Next time you pass a local cop, you could always check up with them the best way to pray and drive at the same time.

The thing is there are many ways to pray, and I personally don't beleive there is "ONE" correct way. I think as long as you feel comfortable doing it the way you want, let it come natural to you and if you need help ask someone you trust who prays, maybe they will help you. I think the way you pray is fine, and I beleive God hears you, no matter if you are in a car or in the shower.

There is no correct way to pray. You can pray anywhere. As far as prayers being answered, forget about it. Prayers only make you feel good.

Sure there's a correct way to pray. Pray to the Father in the Spirit according to God's will in the name of Jesus.

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

No, you don't have to follow some formula for your prayers to be heard. Those are just the Biblical guidelines. When you don't pray as you should the Holy Spirit prays for you if you are a born again believer.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

no way!! God says that his ear is never to heavy to hear the prayers of the righteous.

Isaiah 59:1
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened,That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.

It's like talking to a friend.. theres no "correct" way of having a conversation with someone :) Keep praying !!! You have a good heart

No, there's no correct way to pray. It doesn't matter though, prayer doesn't do anything. You're prayers haven't been heard regardless of how you have prayed.
