...ANYTHING about homosexuality? I cannot find the word GAY,. HOMO, or F*G in the Bible.

I have found one verse - its says something about man lying with another man, as he would a woman.....

Since the Bible is open to intrepretation, I beleive that this verse means that I, as a male, am commanded by God to not LIE to another male, but lying to females is a-okay by way of God. After all, the religion is mostly patriarchial. And women are second class citizens....

Why is that passage intrepreted as sexual?? Doesnt sound sexual to me.....

wait wait wait....youre quoting the OT, and I was under the impression that the OT was no longer the "law" - but if you want it to be...where can I go get some slaves!!!!!

And, why does god only forbid gay men, and not women??? God digs lesboes!!!!!

It's in the Old Testament, which is like a history book. After Jesus came he forgave all sins, so it really doesn't even matter. It's not a sin now, but people won't let it go.

Lie means to recline.

Like I said -- the New Testament is what really matters, but people still like to quote something that's obsolete.

First of all, the Old Testament Law of Moses was NOT done away with by Jesus.

Jesus stated He came to FULFILL the law, NOT replace it.

And yes, the passage you found does refer to sex, not LYING.

I have heard various explanations as to why the explicit forbidding af male homosexual activity, but not female.

The most accurate, I believe, states what the Catholic Church still teaches. Any sexual act BETWEEN A HUSBAND AND HIS WIFE is OK as long as both consent AND the man ultimately plants his seed within the woman and there is the possibility of new life from the act. ( Translation- no birth control, either)

So, any sexual act is sinful UNLESS it is between a man and woman married to each other, and they are open to the possibility of a pregnancy. Sorry folks. That's the way God designed sex. If you could only see the beauty in it, the world would be a much happier place!

Women are NOT second class citizens! Women are EXALTED in the Bible, and in Christianity when it is practiced properly!

Anyone who tells you otherwise is an idiot.

The bible also talks about sex before marriage , adultry ect ect.
I wish so many people would stop trying to find someway to say it is ok , because it is not. People are people and they have free will to be homosexual or not. It is wrong because god says it is. I leave it at that , quite frankly I dont ask people if they are even if it is obvious because it is none of my business. As far as women being second class citizens , that is only because some moron says that not because it is true. To listen to your husband dosent make you second class , it shows him Love and honor as the head and in return the woman should be respected and cherished.

I think that you already know the answer to your own question. It is, sometimes, easier to deal with things that we know are wrong, by pretending that we misunderstood the instructions. The instructions are quite clear but since those verses have already been put on here, I will not list them all.
The scripture says lying WITH another man, not lying TO another man. It is a sin to lie TO anyone as we are told in the 10 Commandments. But you, as well as many others, are trying to find a way to make the Scriptures say what you want them to say. However, the instructions are, quite, clear on this subject.

Mmm, I'd suggest going to look at the orginal writings. The words for lie (to tell a falsehood) and to lie (to be in a horizontal position) might be different words. Too bad not many peopel can reed acient greek or latin. XD I know I can't. My aunt can though!

Though, I"m not really christian, but when I read through that section it's ALL about sexual acts. (Though I haven't read the whole bible or even this whole book, so I may be wrong.) Why would you put something about telling a falsehood in with sexual acts that are not to be done?

As with many things in the Old testament, things are not always so clear. What is clear is the best way, that God will find nothing wrong with.

This is obviously married people having sex without procreation and accepting children as a result. This is basically obvious. Since it has definite safety in it and social benefits it is basically unassailable. To many children, you ask? Don't have sex.

Other expressions of sexuality are generally forbidden, because of their obvious questionable nature in a "perfect" society, in which people are not driven to use others for their gratification...

Whatever though.

I'm afraid you're mistaken. The phrasing is indicative of the time and may be open to interpretation but it is meant that you should not lie with a man as you would with a woman; meaning as you would when making love to a woman. I doesn't mean that you can tell a lie to a woman but not a man.

Not those words but it refers to it in these passages: GAL 6:19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, 20 idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

ur changing the spelling, in the new international version of the bible, which is very well translated, the word is still lying. also, look in the book of romans, where it talks about men forsaking woman and natural functions for those with a man. and no, im not conservative, im a christian/democraitc socialist
