This is VERY normal. Some people on here can be so mean
:(...but I know exactly what you are talking about...I'm in the SAME boat. I love my little Lacey to death (she is a six month old chihuahua). My other chihuahua died in February at the age of 12...this was very hard for me...so I'm very protective of Lacey. My fiance loves Lacey too, but she is my baby. :). Sometimes I find myself giving her alot more attention then my fiance too...she is just soooo sweet, I cant resist. I'd love to see pictures of your little dog! :)

I have two small dogs. A dachshund and a min pin. I adore them! They sleep with us, and I do shower a ton of attention on them. To be honest, I think why have pets if you aren't going to love them like they are part of your family? So go ahead and shower the little angel with all the love you can. Just be sure to set aside couple time for your husband.

I hadn't seen my mom in over 6 years when she invited us to come spend the summer with her last year. We didn't want to put our dog in someone else's care so brought her with and my mother (who has 2 cats and 3 dogs) went through the roof and said either the dog had to leave or we couldn't stay.

We ended up leaving and I haven't talked to her since.

My dog is part of my family. I wouldn't give my children away and taking on a dog bares much the same responsibility.

So no, I don't think it's abnormal. Shows that you are the kind of owner more dogs need.

Well, some people would think not but I love animals. So I would say yes. But you might want to give you hubby a little more attention than your dog, but just a little lol.

I look at it this way,
Your dog will never drink the last beer in the fridge
Your dog will never change the tv station when you go to the fridge for that last beer
Your dog will always agree with you (or at least not say a word if he doesn't)

I think it's really sweet that you are so into your dog! I think though you might want to give a little attention to your husband though. It's not worth losing your marriage!
