don't be alarmed maybe he doesn't recognize himself, it's actually kinda funny, i wouldn't worry, they all do weird things at times,, is your cat young? that could be part of the hissing.

He doesn't know the other cat he sees in the mirror. He can see through windows and reflections contrary to popular belief. So he sees 'enemy' when he sees himself in the mirror.

VERY SIMPLE YOUR CAT SEES HIS REFLECTION AND GET SCARED. THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO DO IS THIS: leave the cat in either your room or in your mothers room and close the door...that's what I do with my cats; otherwise they keep on going from one room to another if you leave the doors open.

He probably thinks its another cat in his home. Animals, like people, are very territorial so am sure thats all it is. He is protecting his home.
