It sounds like you two had only sexual encounters, if it so, then it's logical that he didn't make a commitment to you. But things could be changed and from only a sexual relationship it could turn into a romantic one. It's important that you talk to him about your feelings and how they have changed lately and maybe to show him that you got commited. If he doesn't respond, then you should carry on since it's more than obvious that you wish more than this.

No, you should dump him. People rarely change (they can change, but rarely do). If he's sleeping with you, and currently getting everything he needs out of his relationship with you, why should he change anything about the relationship?
The kind of relationship you should be serious about - is one where commitment comes BEFORE you start having sex. With the right guy/girl this really does occur.

only you and him can make that choice! i mean by commitment do you wedding bells? children? living together? or just you being able to call him your partner? the only real advice from my personal point of veiw is that if i was after commitment and not getting it i would look else where.........

If you want commitment then you need to tell him. If he's not willing to give it to you then it's time to leave because you'll never be happy with him.
