Why would you question if that was normal? I'd think many people would be anxious to hear from a loved one who was away...especially women (generally contact/communication is more important to us)...
Nothing abnormal about what you are doing at all...I hope you are hearing from him and it's all good :)

yeah... if you emailed him 24 times a day youd have issues, but checking your email is OK. your excited to hear from him (as you should be)
