I respect you religion, but I was wondering how can you beileve in the bible and god and jesus when no one has ever seen him or the bible could have been easily been made up about 200 years ago? I mean, their is no actual proof that anything relogious happened 2006 years ago. Their is no proof of wherever Jesus is buried, that its actually him inside that casket. You have the right to believe in what you want, as long as it doesn't encourage violence, but I just wanted to know your response.

I know that Jesus is real because of what He has done for me. I was a drug addict for 15 years, I got to a point where I was just desperate and miserable.
I remember going into the bathroom to be private, and looking up to the ceiling and asking God if He was really there, and could He help me. I was asking from my heart.
Well one thing led to another and I went to church with some people I knew were Christians. I filled out the "visitor's card" and the Pastor came to talk with me. He asked me if I wanted to ask Christ into my heart and be saved, I did, and I've never regretted it.
I came off of drugs, my whole life has changed, and the Lord has helped me all the way. He has taken care of every need I've had, this was 22 years ago. So many changes in my life so quickly, and it's because of Him. He says "if you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you."
This is why I believe, and know in my heart, He is alive and well!

hello edazedaz,

you bring up a good question in that it seems Christians seem to have what many people deem "blind faith" According to many people Christians base their belief on nothing more than this abstract concept of "faith." And while I dare not take away from the importance of faith in the Christian theology, i must clarify that it is no where near "blind."

If you are seeking secular evidence for the credibility of Christianity i recommend the book "evidence that demands a verdict" by Josh Macdowell. In this book Macdowell goes through many difficult questions posed to Christians by non - Christians concerning the existence of such evidence/authenticity of the bible and etc... Here is a link to its table of contents. (http://www.facingthechallenge.org/mcdowell2.htm)

i hope that this might help but even before you consider reading Mr. Macdowell's book, i suggest you read the Bible. May you see for yourself the power of God's word and may that erase any doubt that you may have.

I'm agnostic, so I know all about there not being any proof. But, ahem, to quote boondocks

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence! What about that do you not understand?!" Well, that's not true. Absence of evidence IS evidence of absence, but it's not PROOF of absence, but the point remains: that doesn't disprove the bible or the like.

And quite frankly, the same can be said of human history: all we have of proof are the textbooks and the occasions where the rest of the world agrees with us. We believe in those things that make our world view easier... and, if we're taught stuff in school, and retain it.

The Bible has been copied and recopied for more than 200 years, and the Dead Sea Scrolls are more than 200 years old. Besides, how else do you explain the prophesies of the NT coming true?

Well Jesus wouldn't be in a casket anyway because He rose agaain 3 days later = )
but as for the actual question...
Well have you ever seen the dead sea scrolls?
and its hard to explain why we believe its so hard to understand unless you believe too
I didn't get it when I was a non-believer but now I know its because He is just so amazing!

Forget religion.

Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the tree of life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

We walk by faith NOT by sight. If there were absolute, positive PROOF - then everyone would be saved - even athesisits.

But God wants us to trust and believe because we WANT to not becuase we HAVE to.
Deuteronomy 6:5 Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy HEART
For with the HEART man believeth Romans 10:10
Not with the MIND

You have to open up your heart and mind.
There are a lot of items that there is no evidence for but I am sure you believe them.

You cannot respect what you know nothing of.
I am not trying to prove anything to you, you have to seek it on your own.
Going through life is a journey of knowledge. The more you know the more you will understand.

God Bless.

There are a lot of weird assumptions in your question, but I have to address just one: a Christian, by definition, believes Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. So if He were buried, that would cause a few problems.

dude-there is more recorded in secular history about Jesus Christ and Christianity then any other subject on earth.
If you can believe anything-you can believe that Jesus lived and walked on this planet and died on a cross. Go to any library are just look.
