Hahaha, I think you're just kidding, right ? If so, nobody but me got the joke. I really think your dad should get a vasectomy, it would really benefit your poor family.

Not a sin to get a vasectomy. Maybe he Just doesn't want one. How many Brothers & sisters do you have now? Affraid you won't get a large share of the will?
Let your parents determine how many kids are too many, and love your siblings all the same.

Yes, it is a sin.
Your father needs to learn to control himself.
Think about it.....any surgery to STOP your body from functioning the way it is supposed to MUST be harmful. Where do you think all those little soldiers GO after a vasectomy??? They are still produced, but get absorbed back into the body.....guys with vasectomies get all sorts of auto-immune diseases- like LUPUS and rheumatoid arthritis.

If you are asking this question on health grounds, it is OK. But from personal and social point of views, it is wrong. You see, God has bestowed this beautiful body system to experience and enjoy the human life in the world, would it be wise and right thing to get the natural organs removed against the God's will? Let us do our duties first as human beings. Be on the right path. Leave the rest to the God. We commit so many wrong things in the name of religion. Let's understand our life and then religion.

It is wrong to get a vasectomy because it strips away apart of you. However in order to be a sin, you would have to know it is wrong and still do it. If you are serious, I recommend the following site.

You mean according to the catholic church? ... huh. I don't rightly know. Technically, you wouldn't be spilling your seed when you had sex... what is this, some kind of fantastic divine loophole?
If it were a sin to have a vasectomy, wouldn't it be a sin to be rendered sterile from working in a nuclear power plant? Poor homer...

Just hide your Dad's Viagra prescription. They are right there in the bathroom next to his heart medicine.

No, in fact I think it shows social responsibility, unless you really want more kids and are able to care for them on all levels: financially, emotionally, intellectually, and socially.

Some would say it is, because God wanted people to "be fruitful and multiply," but He's also granted a lot of discretion and discernment.
