A: sexual intercourse with someone when you're married breaking the marriage covenant?
B: not loving, not taking care of spouse, disrespecting spouse, abusive, forceful (rape) ya know breaking the marriage covenant that you vowed at the ceremony?
Why do you assume its only sexual cuz if your spouse treated you like shiti you're gona stay? God is all about keeping the peace, even if divorce is in play. God knows your heart and its not your fault if your spouse changed on you.

Adultery is defined as having sex with a married person (not to you of course).

Fornication is sex outside of marriage. Adultery is when a married person has sex outside the marriage. Adultery is also when a single person has sex with a married person. You don't have to be married to commit adultery. If you have sex with a married person who is not married to you you have commited adultery. There are rules for a spouses behaviour inside a marriage. They are written in the Bible. Get a study Bible and do some research.

OK by breaking the vows it is sexual. Of course to me any type of sex.. kissing dating.. etc... That is cheating or breaking vows. And I would divorce him..
Your next one... to me is a different question..
If your spouse is abusing you, whether physical or emotional, then that is abuse and it is not breaking of a vow.
Also a lot of the whole breaking the marriage vows depends upon your beliefs and your religion.
Me? I would leave either way!!!

Isn't this too important to ask here. It could be cheating on your spouse or cheating with the spouse of another. Either way you are on your way to hell going down the wide path to perdition. I hope that was the answer you wanted.

Extra-marital sex or sexual activity is adultery, but Jesus said that even to look upon someone who is not your spouse with lust is also adultery.

I'd agree that the right answer by societal standards is A, but I don't believe B is any less hurtful. It may be worse. I guess A is just more clearly shown.

Adultery in my book is your A. Of course besides that one can also live with verbal abuse and that can be just as caustic as adultery.
